Ao Nang

With just a few nights left on our trip, this is where the relaxing really began. We headed south to get to Ko Phi Phi ("Ko" means island), but for timing the ferries we needed to stay the night. We chose a nice hotel in Ao Nang where we could enjoy the pool before walking into town for dinner. After the type of travel we had been doing for the past month, it was a little weird to see families sitting by the pool looking like this was their single destination.

A quiet moment before the kids were out.
Dinner and a fire show, recommended by cousin Anjali. I realized at this point that I hadn't had anything spicy enough to blow me away yet, so I ordered this duck curry that was spicier than I typically go for. It was perfect — uncomfortable but tolerable and delicious.
A little pancake breakfast before our bumpy boat ride to the island. One of these Spanish guys was hungover and not doing well.
